Porcelain Crowns & Bridges

Before After

Sometimes, we have to restore the broken or badly decayed teeth with full coverage crowns.  Although porcelain-fused-to-gold crowns may not look as natural as porcelain veneers due to the lack of translucency, they provide superior support for the remaining tooth structure and their durability is excellent.

CASE #1

This patient presented with old crowns with recurrent decay and other new caries developing on natural teeth.  We placed five porcelain-to-gold crowns.

CASE #2

This patient presented with a moderate to severe periodontal disease.  A couple of teeth needed to be extracted due to severe bone loss.  I extracted two teeth and did an immediate restoration by placing a 9-unit crown and bridge.  Note the good preservation of bone and gum around the area of missing teeth.   Two of the front teeth in this picture are pontic crowns – which means they are “fake teeth” with no roots.
